Dr. Theertha Shetty
M.S Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Dr.Theertha Shetty is an obstetrician and gynecologist working as a consultant at Shetty’s endoscopic surgical Centre and Shivaani Maternity home in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
A gynecologist by training, she has a keen interest in research and minimal access to surgery. She holds a medical MBBS degree, master's (MS), and DNB degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
She has fellowships in Reproductive Medicine recognized by the Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Societies of India and Minimal Access Surgery from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. An ardent researcher, she has several papers in indexed national and international peer-reviewed journals. She was the transplant coordinator for uterine transplant at Galaxy Care Laparoscopy Institute, the center where the first uterine transplant in Asia took place under one of the leading laparoscopic surgeons, Dr.Shailesh Puntambekar.
She has also presented numerous papers at international scientific conferences. Her areas of research interest include cancer prevention, minimal access surgery, pregnancy care, and high-risk obstetrics studies.
Having worked in private and government hospitals, she has managed numerous high-risk pregnancies and performed and assisted numerous minimal access surgeries.
She was awarded the Young Clinician in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
for exceptional practice and selfless dedication in the Surgical Specialty in 2021
