Herbs infused Healing Massage Oil

Updated: Jun 8, 2021

If you are looking for some relaxing massage oil, look no further. This DIY massage oil comes together in a flash, requires a bit of steeping time and the end result is a perfect herbal massage oil.

Want to watch this DIY instead of reading it?

The oil base is a blend of gentle olive oil (pomace) and soothing sweet almond oil. This blend will not absorb into your skin quickly, so there is good enough time for a lovely massage. Don't worry, the blend will not leave you feeling greasy too.

The herbs I have chosen are great for healing the skin and soothing the sore muscles.

Chamomile is a classic for relaxation, it has been used since ages to calm and soothe the skin, it also reduces blemishes and signs of aging. It has many powerful skin properties such as anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, antibacterial, antiseptic, and contains antioxidants. Additionally, it is hypoallergenic and helps to reduce skin irritants by neutralizing free radicals.

Rosemary has a huge list of benefits, it hydrates the skin, lightens stretch marks, tightens skin and prevents breakouts. It is a beauty enhancing, anti-aging ingredient. It helps rejuvenate your skin by promoting cell regeneration. Massaging your skin with rosemary oil hydrates, tones and makes it supple. It is also effective in repairing damaged tissues.

Thyme reduces inflammation and stimulates circulation, it is high in antioxidants, it can slow the aging process and give you healthy and glowing skin. It contains stimulating compounds which improve blood circulation. With this, areas which are in need of healing are oxygenated and toxins are flushed out to help you look and feel better.

Lavender for skin is a match made in heaven, it is anti-inflammatory, ultra soothing, fights both acne and dry skin, heals and prevents wrinkles. In addition to all the skin benefits, the scent is just mesmerizing.

Now, making this massage oil is just like brewing tea, it's very simple. Give it a try!!!

How to make Herbs Infused Massage Oil - Recipe

70% | 70g - Olive Oil (Pomace)

22% | 22g - Sweet Almond Oil

2% | 2g - Dried Chamomile Flowers

2% | 2g - Dried Rosemary

2% | 2g - Dried Thyme

2% | 2g - Dried Lavender Buds

Weigh the herbs into a heat resistant glass cup/flask. Add the measured Olive Oil and Sweet Almond Oil.

Place the glass cup in a pan of simmering water and infuse for 45 mins, ensure that the water in the pan doesn't dry up.

Once done, let the mixture cool and then strain it using a mesh strainer or a muslin cloth, squeeze the herbs to get as much as oil possible.

Transfer the herb infused oil into a glass jar/bottle.

To use, apply some oil to your skin and massage in. Enjoy!!!
